The 23-roll tension leveler combines controlled tension with bending across a 23-roll cassette. This work relieves residual stress and stabilizes strip shape, so that material runs flatter and more predictably through the lines that follow. The configuration is specified where downstream processing requires strip that is already settled.
It processes stainless steel, silicon steel and carbon steel strip across a typical width of 350–1780 mm at 500–800 m/min. The leveling cassette and applied tension act together to hold strip shape stable line after line.
It is suited to stainless and silicon-steel producers, carbon-steel strip makers and metal service centers that require residual-stress relief and consistent strip shape ahead of cleaning, inspection, slitting or finishing.
