Tension Leveler
Controlled strip tension combined with bending and leveling rolls reduces waves, coil set and residual stress. JINYE tension levelers integrate with cleaning, inspection, slitting and finishing lines across a typical width of 350–1780 mm at 500–800 m/min.
Flat strip prepared for the next line.
A tension leveler removes waves, coil set and residual stress from strip. It works the material under controlled tension as it passes through bending and leveling rolls. The result is flatter strip with stable shape, which protects every downstream operation — cleaning, inspection, slitting, coating and finishing.
JINYE specifies the leveler as part of a complete line rather than a standalone unit. We integrate it directly with cleaning, slitting and finishing equipment across a typical width of 350–1780 mm at 500–800 m/min. The same family supports our turnkey routes, where rolling, annealing, pickling, tension leveling and slitting run as one connected flow.
Most of these lines are engineered to specification — more than 70% of our projects are customized. We match the bending and tension setup to the material and downstream process rather than supply a fixed unit. Where the line includes cold rolling, that route processes stainless down to 0.03 mm and 201 stainless on the 20-high mill, with energy consumption reduced by up to 30% versus conventional configurations.
The configuration suits stainless, silicon and carbon steel strip producers and metal service centers that require consistent flatness ahead of a finishing or slitting step.

Three tension levelers
One family in three configurations, matched to the degree of flatness control the line requires and to where the leveler sits in the process.

Double-bend Single-leveler
350–1780 mm · 500–800 m/min. Flatness improvement and coil-set reduction for finishing lines.
View →
Double-bend Double-leveler
350–1780 mm · 500–800 m/min. For higher flatness-control demand, with stronger bending and tension adjustment.
View →
23-roll Tension Leveler
350–1780 mm · 500–800 m/min. Residual-stress relief and strip-shape stabilization before downstream processing.
View →Roll diameter, leveling cassette, tension range and line-integration details — along with final rolling force, motor power and coil weight on integrated routes — are confirmed during engineering review.
From your strip data to a confirmed configuration
Strip and line review
We confirm material grade, width, thickness range, line speed, the flatness target and where the leveler sits within your process.
Configuration match
We define the bending and tension scheme — single or double leveler, or 23-roll — and the line-integration details to suit your downstream equipment.
Manufacture, install and commission
We manufacture the leveler, install it on site, commission it into your line and provide ongoing technical support.
